![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On Mac OS Monterey and recent hardware there is an "Erase all Content and Settings" feature in System Preferences that does it all for you. This is probably the last time you have to go through all of this. Then do an install and it will split it up into containers/volumes. Safest thing to do, especially since you've already done a partial erase, is select APPLE SSD (or Samsung or Intel or whatever brand disk you have) and erase that. It only shows 2 volumes but there are in fact several. the above is not even close to the full story. They use "Containers" and "Volume Groups" which are more complex. If you select "Show All Devices" in the Disk Utility View menu, you should see something like this: APPLE SSD XXXXX `Macintosh HD - Data` is pretty much your entire disk. ![]()
